This website is for NCL's Epic 15-Day Transatlantic cruise. We will be visiting 5 unique ports on our way from Port Canaveral to Barcelona, Spain. This itinerary give us the chance to spend a day in Bermuda, rather than being on a cruise that only visits there for about the same price. Then we make our way to the city of Funchal, Madeira, a place you should find fancinating as the city rises to nearly 4,000 feet from the port. From there we stop in Cadiz, Spain, giving us a chance to visit Seville with the largest gothic cathedral in the world. Gibraltar is next and a place we've only passed in the dark. This will be the second British Overseas Territory on this cruise. Gibraltar is in termoil due to the Brexit vote as Spain is again pushing to reclaim control. Our last port will be Malaga, Spain, the gateway to Granada and a chance to visit The Alhambra a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you chose to stay in Malaga, you will be able to explore a city that was founded in 770 BC and was part of the Holy Roman Empire.

This will be our 2nd cruise on NCL, with the first being on the Dawn in Dec. 2009. Since we have not sailed on the Epic, I had to rely on research to learn about her. As her name implies, the Epic was the largest and most innovative Norwegian ship when she was launched by providing passengers with a wide range of onboard activities, amenities and stateroom options. Especially worthy of note are the ship's New Wave staterooms, which offer accommodations with contemporary curved architecture, open living spaces and creatively designed bathrooms (which were an issue from the start.) And, 100 percent of the Epic's outside staterooms feature balconies; thus, no OceanView cabins. I've read a lot of complaints about this ship, but I've found others who love her. So, we start this adventure with an open mind.
