Goal & Roll Call related Links

The is the first of 2 cruises we are doing in Europe in 2019. They are both Bucket List trips. When I searched for a cruise in the Western Mediterranean, I wanted a cruise that went to Venice, Santorini and Athens. This cruise covers those plus a number of other of the Greek Islands. Once I had this cruise nailed down, I looked for a Baltic cruise that departed within a week of our debarkation in Venice. This would give us plenty of time to get to the Baltic port and likely a chance to see the sights along the way as well as tour both home port cities. Venice was very high on the list! We were scheduld to visit there in October 2012, but there were storms and Venice was flooded. We ended up having 6 sea days on a 12-day cruise. This cruise is really special as it has no sea days. We visit a port each day of the cruise. We have only visited two of the ports previously - Dubrovnik and Corfu. The only places I wish we were also visiting in the Eastern Mediterrean are Istambul and Ephesus in Turkey. With the current climate in the Mideast, those ports are not as popular as they once were.

This will be our first time on the Star. Our first cruise with NCL, in December 2009, was on the Dawn, a ship of the same class. At that time we had only done two other cruises; one on Holland and the other a Carnival cruise. We liked the itinerary on the Dawn 9 day cruise as it visited ports in the British Lesser Antilles, but we felt like Norwegian nickel-and-dimed us. We spent the next 9 years cruising with Carnival, save for one cruise to Cuba on Royal. We have 255 days with Carnival and have 24 more booked for the Sping of 2018. We have gotten so tired of the lack of interesting itineraries that we started looking elsewhere; hence Norwegian again caught our attention. This spring we will spend 22 days on the Epic. I'll update this after that experience.

The embarkation/debarkation port for cruise is Venice. I have specific information on the port and where we dock on the Venice PortPage that is linked below.

Itinerary Section with port specific Info

Each of the links in the itinerary below takes you to a Page for that port. On those Port Pages you will find links to a Cruise Critic Cruise Port Page for each port. These pages contain a wealth of information; so, please be sure to check them out. The next link on each page takes you to Tripadvisor's list of Thing to Do in each port, giving you an ordered lists for attractions and activities. I've also linked in guides by Frommers and Lonely Planet as well as tours offered by Tours by Locals and Viator. In addition, you will find links to Youtube videos for some of the ports.
